Hrithik to act in Hollywood remake

GuzaarishWhile the buzz is going on over Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Guzaarish’, another news has cropped in the circle about Hrithik Roshan’s next.

Sources have it that Vishal Bhardwaj is gearing up to bring a remake of Academy Award winning movie, ‘The Departed’. Hrithik will be playing the character played by Leonardo Di Caprio in the English version. Said a source, “Vishal has got Hrithik’s dates from June after the actor finishes shooting for Sanjay Bhansali’s ‘Guzaarish’. So far only he has been cast. He plays Leo’s role and so he will have to hone his martial arts skills and gun-totting abilities by taking special classes from professionals.”

The untitled movie will be set in Mumbai and Vishal Bhardwaj is said to be maintaining the original storyline. Hrithik will be featured as a rough-tough undercover cop in this one. The actor is currently recovering from a knee injury and on doctor’s advice, is keeping away from risky actions. Once he is fit, Hrithik will be taking the professional training to try out the stunts in the movie.

Rub your palms, people! We’ll wait for this one!!

Asin says no to Ashutosh

AsinMumbai: After the disaster of London Dreams Asin (who is just two movie old in Bollywood) seems to become more conscious about her career.

According to the latest report, the actress was offered to act in Ashutosh Gowariker’s next project,‘Khelenge Hum Jee Jaan Se’, where she was supposed to act opposite to Abhisekh Bachchan.

But she has turned down the proposal citing date problems. It is also in the news that she was very much excited to work with the Bollywood’s most popular director, Ashutosh Gowariker.

The actress did not find the script very interesting.

Though, everything behind the story is the script only, but it seems that the actors have stared loosing faith on Ashutosh after his last debacle of ‘whats your rashi.”

Aladin scores high on VFX

AladinThe story of Aladin is legendary and the characters of Genie and Jasmine known worldwide. This is why it requires courage for a film maker to set the film in contemporary times and come up with his own take on their relationship. Film maker Sujoy Ghosh does exactly that as he gets his imagination go wild and spins a tale that ends up relating the past, present and future of these characters

And while Eros International’s Aladin has already worked its charm with the younger audiences, what stands apart for the film is the VFX and special effects that have been receiving rave responses from critics and audiences alike. Most of the film is shot against a green wall which makes Aladin quite heavy on VFX and special effects.

Created by EyeQube Studios, the visuals belong to never-seen-before kinds, with a whole new imaginary world of ‘Khwaish’ being created that gives a beautiful visual appeal to the film. Looking at some of the funnier moments, kids were left in splits when a donkey’s head replaces that of Riteish’s, his guitar turns into a frog and he is thrown in air either after being turned into a balloon or due to electrocution.

The second half of the film is also replete with stunning effects when action and thrills take centre stage and the best of VFX is unveiled. With its superior VFX and impressive visual effects, looks like ‘Aladin’ has set new benchmarks in Bollywood!

Katrina Kaif, the actor, returns

KatrinaShe was one of the shining spots in BLUE, albeit in a small role. And now Katrina Kaif is all set to be seen as a leading lady in as many as two films this November – AJAB PREM KI GHAJAB KAHANI and DE DANA DAN.

For someone who was written off after working with Amitabh Bachchan in as many as two films at an early stage of her career – BOOM and SARKAR – Katrina is one of the strongest contenders today for the Top-3 spots which is currently being occupied by Kareena Kapoor, Priyanka Chopra and Aishwarya Rai.

Now with AJAB PREM…. and DE DANA DAN, she is enjoying the best of both worlds. While in the former she is paired with the hottest new entrant in the industry, Ranbir Kapoor, who has recently regaled audiences with WAKE UP SID, in the latter she has Akshay Kumar for company with whom she has already delivered five consecutive successful films.

Even though official confirmation is yet awaited on the newer films that she has signed, Katrina is pretty much having a secure 2010 for her with much anticipated RAJNEETI round the corner. With NEW YORK showcasing her acting potential quite well, this political drama/thriller by Prakash Jha should further consolidate her position in the industry which is desperately looking for some fresh faces to make a mark.

Meanwhile, it would be interesting to see how Katrina, who was once labelled as a non-actor, gets the right mannerisms and body language once seen in comedies like AJAB PREM KI GHAJAB KAHANI and DE DANA DAN.

Britney’s ex ordered to stay away

Britney Spears father has taken out a restraining order against the singer’s ex-boyfriend Adnan Ghalib, telling him to stay away from her for three years.

Mr Ghalib is a photographer who was involved with the star at the start of 2008, around the time she spent time in hospital and lost custody of her sons.

Her father, Jamie Spears, took over her welfare in February 2008 and fans have since seen a dramatic recovery.

She is now two weeks into a three-month tour, which ends in the UK in June.

Mr Ghalib must have no physical, e-mail or phone contact with the star, her parents or her two sons until March 2012.

The order was brought by Mr Spears and approved by Judge Aviva Bobb at Los Angeles Superior Court during a brief hearing on Wednesday.

Mr Spears has also sought to protect his daughter from her former self-styled manager Sam Lutfi.

Court documents said they had tried to undermine Mr Spears’ control over the 27-year-old singer’s affairs
